Every year, we organize educational activities to allow everyone to learn or perfect their knowledge in areas that we believe satisfy the learning taste of our trail users.

The Perseids

Our remoteness from urban centres allows us to admire this rain of shooting stars that always takes place between mid-July and the end of August.

In 2025, the Perseids meteor shower will be active from July 17 to August 24. As every year, we will invite the Gorois to participate in this show with amateur astronomers.

Ornithology

Since 2017, we have been a member of Développement ornithologique Argenteuil and, thanks to the close collaboration that we have developed with this organization, several outings are organized every year.In winter, we are looking for the striped owl. In the spring and fall, we walk our trails to find and hear our migratory birds.A complete inventory of birds (spring) and fall in Gore’s territory has been completed and nest boxes have been installed. For those who want to practice using their GPS, the list of coordinates is presented below

Mycology

Every autumn, a fungal activity is organized for the delight of mushroom hunters. They leave our trails to pick and meet our specialist, Yvan Perreault, a self-taught mycologist since 1999. Yvan was immediately passionate about the species of wild mushrooms gastronomic rarely highlighted even in haute cuisine.

For more than twenty years, from May to November, he has been wandering through the woods and nature in all directions, always on the lookout for new discoveries but less and less often alone: there are so many groups to take on excursions, Now, with so many requests for forest animations, the curiosity of the general public has become insatiable!

Yvan became Vice-President of the MLMC in its second year of existence in 2010 and in his fourth year in 2012. He is very proud of his Mycology Circle and very happy to be able to devote himself, in the company of dedicated administrators and volunteers, to the dissemination of mycological knowledge in the two beautiful neighboring regions of Lanaudière and Mauricie, So fertile in wild mushrooms!

Next appointment: fall 2025
