Our philosophy

Land is abused because it is regarded as a commodity. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.

It is Les Sentiers de Gore's goal that it provides forward-looking tools to foster a strong commitment by our administrators, leaders and fellow citizens to understand the principles of our natural systems that support our lives within it. To sustain our flora and fauna by maintaining Greenway Corridors that is inter-connective throughout the entire Township of Gore and beyond. That all class of citizens have immediate access to our forests and embodies the values to co-exist with it.

With Gore being largely undeveloped and mostly private, Les Sentiers de Gore, our newly formed organization, is just one of those tools to receive donations and funding for purpose to protect our natural ecosystems, promote nature activities, our history, encourage creativity and healthy outdoor living as well as support similar organizations for such purpose.

With pioneering spirit, Les Sentiers de Gore encourages embodying a land ethic to develop carefully, not recklessly to ensure we remain an affordable, peaceful community within the natural habitat landscape and remain here with a great sense of belonging for the sake of our long-term livelihood.

¹ Aldo Leopold was an American author, philosopher, scientist, ecologist, forester, conservationist, and environmentalist.

The Logo

The logo was realized by a local artist, madam Monique Laramée.

The arc represents the passage between two universes. Indeed, paths allow us to leave our sometimes wild world to penetrate into an other one: that of the nature and the pondering. The arc invites us to explore Gore's real nature.

By entering paths, we walk(work) in the tracks of animals as well as in those from the pioneers who cleared(opened up) these lands.

The fox, very present to Gore, is the guard of this natural universe which we have to respect and protect.
