Pioneers trails
At this moment, only the Pioneers' Trails contain pleasant tracks both for hiking and snowshoeing, according to the season. Works will continue to be undertaken to improve certain passages to make them more secure and also more respectful of the damp environment.
The summers of 2023 and 2024 brought together enthusiastic and effective volunteers to rebuild the Pioneer Trail Bridge, a bridge that had lost its lustre over the years to the point where it had become dangerous.
So every Saturday or Sunday from June to August, our volunteers got down to work. First by dismantling the old bridge and rebuilding the new one, often in the mud.
Denommé Park
The Park’s land was donated by Marcel Denommé, a long-time resident of the Township and former municipal councillor, who bequeathed part of his property to the citizens of Gore. Thanks to his generosity and that of two other donors, a nature park including hiking trails has been developped for the benefit of all.
During two years, under a federal program, we hired students to achieve major works in the trails, building culvets, small bridges, all done under Elisabeth van Eiken supervision.
In 2022, we received a grant from the Quebec government to undertake major works on the trails
Thank you to all our volunteers who built the Beaver bridge.
